27,000 Trapped By Water
More than 900 people are confirmed dead while thousands of homes across Khyber-Pakhtoonkhwa province have been destroyed.
The United Nations has warned more than one million people are in need of help after heavy monsoon rains caused widespread flooding.
Local disaster official Latifur Rehman said: "Aerial monitoring is being conducted, and it has shown that whole villages have washed away, animals have drowned and grain storages have washed away.
"The destruction is massive and devastating."
Pakistan's government has sent more than 30,000 troops to help with the relief effort, which has been aided by a slackening of the rains.
So far, some 19,000 people have been rescued - but authorities warn more than 27,000 are still trapped by flood waters.
Mr Rehman said
"All efforts are being used to rescue people stuck in inaccessible areas and all possible help is being provided to affected people,".
However, there was anger from some Pakistanis who felt the government has been slow to respond.
"Water is all around and there is no help in sight."
A number of other countries and aid organisations have mobilised a response to the flood disaster.
The US has delivered around 380,000 food packages, four rescue boats and two water filtration units.

26 dead in Somalia
Fresh fighting erupted between government forces and Islamist rebels in the Somali capital, leaving at least 26 people dead and dozens wounded Tuesday night, medical officials said.
About 60 more people were injured, medical officials said.
The casualties taken to local hospitals were civilians. It was unclear whether any militants or government forces were injured.
Fighters from Hezbul-Islam and Al-Shabaab attacked government bases in Hodan district, in south Mogadishu, according to medical sources.
Al-Shabaab is waging a war against Somalia's government in an effort to implement a stricter form of Islamic law, or sharia.
Somalia has not had a stable government since 1991, and fighting between the rebels and government troops has escalated the humanitarian crisis in the famine-ravaged country
15 people were killed in coal mine in northern China
At least 15 people were killed in an explosion at a coal mine in northern China early Saturday, state media reported.
About 20 more were injured, but mine officials said the number is expected to go up, according to the Xinhua news agency.
The blast at Liugou coal mine in Shanxi province occurred at 3:40 a.m.
Rescue crews were scouring the area for survivors. An investigation is underway.
Mine accidents are common in China. In 2009, 2,631 people were killed in such accidents. The figure, while high, is down from 2002, when 6,995 people died.
In April the country launched a campaign to inspect safety regulations in mines and other industries that have had serious accidents.

A passenger plane belonging to the private Airblue service was flying from the Karachi when it crashed into the Margalla hills near the Pakistani capital while trying to land in rainy and cloudy conditions, killing all 152 passengers.
Rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the site while army helicopters hovered over the Margalla Hills to look for survivors.
Residents of Islamabad saw the plane flying very low just before it crashed.
The head of the National Disaster Management Authority, Nadeem Ahmad, said that the difficult terrain and weather were hampering the rescue efforts.
Authorities say it will be premature to discuss the causes of the crash without proper investigation.
"It was a (Airbus) 321 aircraft, not very old, about eight to 10 years old and in the aviation, this thing is not very old. Maintenance was done regularly, like I said, there was nothing wrong technically with the aircraft," Ahmed said. "Of course when the investigation will take place they will get to know what all happened, but right now I do not think we should get into speculations as such."
He added this was the first crash for the private Airblue service, which began operations in 2004. It is the second largest airline service in the country after the state-run Pakistan International Airlines, PIA.
In 2006, A passenger plane belonging to the PIA crashed near the central city of Multan, killing 45 people.
